Coming Soon: MyAviation Special Issue 2026

Malaysia’s Air Crash History

Accidents • Investigations • Lessons That Changed Malaysian Aviation

MyAviation Magazine will release a Special Digital Edition at the end of September 2026, with complimentary access for all readers.

Aviation history is not only about aircraft, airports and technological achievements. It is also a history of continuous learning. Across generations, aviation accidents and the investigations that followed have contributed valuable knowledge to aircraft design, flight operations, training, regulation, human factors and safety.

With this philosophy, MyAviation Magazine will present a carefully researched Special Issue examining significant fixed-wing aircraft accidents connected with Malaysia’s aviation history.

A Historical and Aviation-Safety Publication

Malaysia’s Air Crash History is not intended to assign blame, determine liability or criticise any individual or organisation.

Instead, the Special Issue will document significant events, examine what official investigations established where reports are available, and explore the safety lessons that emerged.

From the earlier years of aviation in Malaya and Borneo through the development of modern Malaysian aviation, readers will be taken through important moments that became part of the country’s aviation history.

The publication will also examine how aviation has evolved over the decades—from aircraft technology and navigation to crew training, airport infrastructure, operational procedures, accident investigation and safety management.

Facts Before Speculation

MyAviation Magazine maintains a clear editorial principle: seek the truth, verify the facts and report responsibly.

For this Special Issue, conclusions relating to accident causes or contributing factors will be attributed to the relevant official investigation authorities wherever such findings are available.

Where an investigation remains ongoing, inconclusive or unresolved, MyAviation will clearly state its status and will not substitute speculation for established evidence.

The publication does not seek to determine or apportion blame, fault or liability to any pilot, crew member, airline, operator, manufacturer, regulator, engineer or organisation.

Remembering With Respect

Behind every fatal aviation accident are people, families and communities.

For that reason, this Special Issue will approach aviation tragedies with sensitivity and dignity. The objective is not to sensationalise accidents, but to understand their place in aviation history and recognise the importance of learning from them.

We remember those who were lost. We respect those affected. We learn from the past.

Malaysia’s Continuing Aviation Safety Journey

The history of aviation accidents should never be interpreted as a measure of a country’s aviation industry today.

Aircraft technology, regulation, operational standards, training, air traffic management, maintenance practices and accident investigation have developed significantly across generations.

This Special Issue will therefore look beyond individual accidents to examine a much larger story: the continuing evolution of aviation safety in Malaysia.

Selected Malaysian aviation events occurring outside the country will also be discussed separately where they are important to understanding the broader national aviation story. Unresolved events will be presented strictly within the boundaries of established information.

Complimentary Access for All

MyAviation believes that knowledge contributing to aviation awareness and safety should be widely accessible.

For this reason, Malaysia’s Air Crash History will be released as a Special Digital Edition with complimentary access for all readers.

The publication is intended for aviation professionals, pilots, engineers, cabin crew, students, researchers, aviation enthusiasts and members of the public interested in understanding the history and continuing development of aviation safety.
