MyAviation Magazine Introduces Aviation Coffee Talk: Conversations Beyond the Cockpit

A new interview series will explore the people, experiences and perspectives behind aviation, beginning with a planned conversation about medical evacuation from a patient’s point of view.

MyAviation Magazine is preparing to launch Aviation Coffee Talk, an interview series scheduled to begin in January 2027. Hosted by Adam S. Kumar, Managing Publisher of MyAviation Magazine, the programme will feature conversations with aviation professionals, industry leaders and individuals whose personal experiences offer valuable insights into the industry.

The initiative marks an expansion of the magazine’s editorial activities into interview-based video content, complementing its existing coverage of commercial aviation, aeromedical services and industry developments.

Dubai, United Arab Emirates, has been identified as the programme’s opening destination, with future interviews envisaged across Asia and other international locations.

Beyond the Medevac Mission: A Patient’s Story

The proposed opening episode, “Beyond the Medevac Mission: A Patient’s Story,” will explore medical evacuation from the perspective of someone who has experienced it firsthand.

Medical evacuation requires coordination between aircraft operators, flight crews, healthcare professionals and ground support teams. While operational performance and clinical care remain essential measures of a mission’s success, the patient’s experience provides another important perspective.

The interview will seek to understand how patients experience medical transportation, including their concerns before departure, interactions with medical personnel and feelings throughout the journey.

It will also examine how communication, reassurance and family involvement can influence the experience of receiving care during an emergency.

By focusing on these aspects, the programme hopes to provide aeromedical professionals with insights that may not always emerge from operational reports or clinical assessments.

Conversations Across the Aviation Industry

Although the opening episode will focus on aeromedical transportation, Aviation Coffee Talk will cover a broader range of aviation subjects.

Future guests may include commercial pilots, aviation entrepreneurs, medical professionals, industry specialists and individuals with personal stories connected to air travel.

Discussions will explore career decisions, professional challenges, leadership experiences and developments affecting the aviation sector.

The interview format is intended to encourage open discussion while maintaining the editorial standards expected of an independent aviation publication.

An International Interview Series

Beginning with its proposed Dubai edition, Aviation Coffee Talk aims to engage guests from different countries and professional backgrounds.

The international format will allow MyAviation Magazine to examine aviation issues through regional perspectives while introducing audiences to individuals working across different areas of the industry.

For interviews involving personal medical experiences, the programme will prioritise informed consent, privacy and respectful discussion.

Further details about the opening episode, including guest participation and release arrangements, will be announced once confirmed.

A Conversation Worth Having

Commenting on the initiative, Adam S. Kumar outlined the thinking behind the series:

“Throughout aviation, we hear many stories about achievements, successful operations and industry developments. But behind those achievements are people with experiences that deserve to be heard.

“With Aviation Coffee Talk, I want to create conversations that allow people to share their journeys in their own words.

“Our first planned conversation will look at medical evacuation from the patient’s perspective. We often hear about successful missions from the organisations involved. I believe it is equally important to understand what that journey means to the person receiving care.”

Aviation Coffee Talk is scheduled to debut in January 2027 as an original interview series presented by MyAviation Magazine.
