Recognition highlights the importance of ground-to-air integration across the aeromedical patient journey
MyAviation Magazine, in conjunction with Aeromedical Asia 2027, has named Medilife Ambulance as Best Aeromedical Ground Partner 2026, following the completion of a public poll and a separate editorial assessment focused specifically on aeromedical ground-support considerations.
The recognition was created to highlight an important part of aeromedical transport: the connection between the hospital, ground ambulance, aeromedical team and aircraft.
Seven Malaysian ambulance providers were nominated for the public poll — First Ambulance, GPM Ambulance, MMR Ambulance/Airmed, Medilife Ambulance, TIME Ambulance, SnJ Health Services and Lifesaver Ambulance.
The public response demonstrated strong support across the nominees. The final Best Aeromedical Ground Partner 2026 recognition, however, was not determined by popularity alone. Public participation formed part of the process, alongside an editorial assessment focused specifically on the requirements of an aeromedical ground partner.
A Specific Aeromedical Assessment
The editorial assessment was designed around the particular role of a ground medical transport provider within the wider aeromedical ecosystem. It was not intended to establish a general ranking of ambulance companies in Malaysia.
Areas considered included critical-care transport, coordination of ground-to-air patient movements, medical evacuation and repatriation support, medical escort capability, cross-border patient movement and integration within a wider aeromedical transport network.
Based on the criteria established specifically for this recognition, Medilife Ambulance was selected as Best Aeromedical Ground Partner 2026.
The selection reflects Medilife’s alignment with the purpose and criteria of this particular recognition. It should not be interpreted as suggesting that other nominated ambulance providers lack capability, nor does it establish an industry-wide ranking of Malaysian ambulance operators.
Why the Ground-to-Air Connection Matters
An aeromedical mission does not begin when an aircraft takes off.
For many patients, the journey begins at a hospital bedside. A ground medical transport team may be responsible for transferring the patient to an airport while maintaining appropriate clinical support and coordinating the eventual handover to the aeromedical team.
At the destination, another ground transfer may be required to complete the patient’s journey to the receiving medical facility.
For critically ill patients, continuity throughout these stages is particularly important. Communication, patient preparation, monitoring, medical equipment, oxygen requirements and coordination among clinical and operational teams can all form part of a successful transfer.
Aeromedical Asia 2027 therefore believes that the ground-to-air interface deserves greater recognition within the wider aeromedical ecosystem.
Medilife Invited to Participate in AA2027 Live Demonstration
As part of the winner’s recognition, Medilife Ambulance will be invited to participate in a live aeromedical patient-transfer demonstration during Aeromedical Asia 2027, scheduled for 17–18 February 2027 at Subang Skypark, Selangor. The official award will be presented publicly during the Aeromedical Asia 2027 ceremony, on 17–18 February 2027 at Subang SkyPark , Selangor, in the presence of the aeromedical and healthcare community.
The demonstration is intended to illustrate the practical interface between ground medical transport and an aeromedical operation, providing delegates and trade visitors with an opportunity to observe how different components of the patient-transfer chain can come together in an operational environment.
It also supports the wider objective of Aeromedical Asia 2027: bringing together healthcare professionals, ambulance providers, aeromedical teams, aircraft operators, assistance companies and other organisations involved in critical-care transportation.
Six Complimentary Advertising Placements and Editorial Feature
As part of the recognition package, Medilife Ambulance will receive six complimentary advertising placements in MyAviation Magazine, together with a dedicated editorial feature examining its role and experience within the medical transport sector.
These benefits are provided following the selection of the winner. They are not conditional upon Medilife purchasing advertising, sponsorship, partnership or exhibition space from MyAviation Magazine or Aeromedical Asia 2027.
The distinction is important. The selection is an editorial recognition, while the advertising placements, editorial feature and demonstration opportunity are benefits subsequently provided to the selected recipient.
Recognising the Complete Patient Journey
Aircraft are a highly visible part of aeromedical transportation, but successful patient movement extends beyond the flight itself.
Ground ambulance teams, hospitals, medical escorts, flight medical teams, aircraft operators and receiving facilities can all contribute to a single patient journey.
Recognising the organisations that help connect these different environments supports a broader understanding of modern aeromedical transport and the importance of continuity throughout the patient-transfer chain.
For 2026, based on the methodology established for this recognition, that distinction goes to Medilife Ambulance.
Congratulations to Medilife Ambulance — Best Aeromedical Ground Partner 2026.
Medilife’s role within the ground-to-air patient-transfer environment will be highlighted during Aeromedical Asia 2027 — International Aeromedical & Critical Care Transport Conference & Exhibition, taking place on 17–18 February 2027 at Subang SkyPark, Selangor.
Editorial Note: Best Aeromedical Ground Partner 2026 reflects the specific public-poll and editorial-assessment methodology established for this recognition. It is an editorial recognition and does not constitute a regulatory certification, safety rating, accreditation or industry-wide ranking of ambulance operators. Winner benefits are provided following selection and are not conditional upon the purchase of advertising, sponsorship, partnership or exhibition space.
