Riyadh Air has cancelled its Kuala Lumpur–Riyadh service scheduled for Sunday, alongside flights from Manila, Dhaka and Islamabad, as Saudi Arabia’s King Khalid International Airport begins restoring terminal operations following security-related disruptions.

According to the airline’s official travel advisory, the affected services are RX864 from Kuala Lumpur, RX874 from Manila, RX764 from Dhaka and RX662 from Islamabad.

King Khalid International Airport reopened Terminals 1 and 2 on 25 October under revised operating arrangements. Terminal 1 is designated for domestic flights, while Terminal 2 handles international services operated by Saudi national carriers.

The airport had previously resumed limited operations following the 10 October attack, for which Yemen’s Houthi movement claimed responsibility. Airlines have since been adjusting schedules as authorities progressively restore airport services.

Riyadh Air has also announced temporary arrangements for selected flights connecting Riyadh with Cairo, Jeddah, Dhaka, London Heathrow, Lahore and Islamabad. From 25 October, these services are scheduled to operate through Al Qassim Airport.

Departing passengers may check in at the InterContinental Durrat Al Riyadh before taking a complimentary coach transfer to Al Qassim Airport, approximately four and a half hours away by road. Travellers may alternatively proceed directly to Al Qassim, subject to the airline’s check-in requirements.

The airline is offering temporary booking flexibility to eligible passengers scheduled to travel through 7 November 2026. Qualifying bookings may be changed to available Riyadh Air services for travel through 30 November, subject to the published conditions.

The developments have implications for connectivity between Saudi Arabia and Asian markets, particularly Malaysia, the Philippines, Bangladesh and Pakistan, where travellers continue to face changes to scheduled services.

Passengers are advised to confirm their flight status and departure arrangements directly with their airline before travelling.
