International and Malaysian leaders across air rescue, emergency medicine, critical care transport, healthcare and aeromedical operations will come together in Malaysia as Aeromedical Asia 2027 builds an increasingly diverse international faculty.

Kuala Lumpur is preparing to welcome a growing group of international and Malaysian aeromedical leaders when Aeromedical Asia 2027 brings the aeromedical and critical care transport community together on 17 and 18 February 2027.

Organised by My Aviation Magazine, Aeromedical Asia 2027 is being developed as an international meeting point connecting aviation with medicine, bringing together professionals involved in air rescue, medical evacuation, critical care retrieval, emergency medicine, prehospital care, aviation medicine and healthcare leadership.

The conference is scheduled for Subang SkyPark RAC, Selangor, and will combine international knowledge exchange, professional collaboration, industry engagement and aeromedical activities.

Among the international speakers joining the programme is Dr Krystian Pracz, CEO of DRF Stiftung Luftrettung in Germany, bringing the perspective of European air rescue and the development of modern helicopter emergency medical services.

Australia will be represented by Whitney Luxford, Founder and CEO of Fit2Fly, whose work focuses on the intersection between aviation and medical clearance.

From Singapore, Adj. A/Prof Rahul Goswami, Senior Consultant with the Department of Emergency Medicine at Changi General Hospital, will contribute the perspective of emergency and critical care medicine.

India’s Dr Shalini Nalwad, Founder and Director of ICATT, joins the programme as a Featured Asian Speaker, while Belgium’s Alex Van Lierde, Founder and CEO of EMTACS, adds another international perspective from aeromedical and critical care transport.

The Malaysian faculty brings another important dimension to the conference.

Healthcare and medical leadership will be represented by Dato’ Suriaghandi Suppiah, CEO of the Malaysia Healthcare Travel Council; Datuk Dr Kuljit Singh, President of the Association of Private Hospitals of Malaysia; Dr Sivanaesan Letchumanan, President of the Malaysian Medical Association; and Dr Mohd Zaki Fadzil bin Senek, Consultant Emergency Physician in prehospital care and disaster medicine at Hospital Sultanah Nur Zahirah.

Together, the developing faculty reflects one of the central ideas behind Aeromedical Asia 2027: aeromedical transport cannot be viewed purely as an aviation operation or purely as a medical service.

Moving a critically ill or injured patient safely may involve physicians, nurses and paramedics, aircraft operators and flight crews, hospitals, ground ambulance teams, assistance organisations, medical technology providers and aviation infrastructure working across different locations and sometimes different countries.

The conference therefore provides an opportunity to bring those disciplines into the same conversation.

Recent aeromedical activity in Malaysia also demonstrates the country’s growing engagement with specialised transport medicine. Aeromedical training involving flight doctors, nurses and medical crews has recently taken place near Kuala Lumpur, including participants from several Asian countries.

For Malaysia, Aeromedical Asia 2027 represents an opportunity to strengthen connections between the domestic healthcare and aviation sectors and the wider international aeromedical community.

The speaker programme is not yet complete.

Additional Malaysian, Asian and international speakers are expected to be announced as the conference faculty continues to expand.

The significance of the gathering may ultimately extend beyond individual presentations. Bringing experienced practitioners from different aeromedical systems into one location creates an opportunity to compare operational models, discuss clinical and aviation challenges, exchange experience and develop professional relationships across borders.

For two days in February 2027, Malaysia will become a meeting point for some of the people working at the intersection of aviation and critical care.

Different countries. Different disciplines. One aeromedical community.

This is strong enough for the My Aviation homepage, and I would use your nine-speaker visual directly underneath the headline. The story also leaves room for us to update it as the next international speakers are announced.
